01 Project Overview

Empowering Volunteer Coordinators for the New Era

“Tips” is an interactive site that provides short tips on accompanying and appreciating volunteers. designed to address some of the The 'Israeli Volunteer Network’s' important goals.

02 The Problem

The Shift
Between F2F Management To Remote

'The Israeli Volunteer Network' is a pedagogical organization whose main mission is to provide all volunteering organizations in Israel with up-to-date knowledge and tools to ensure quality volunteering.

The outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic forced organizations to change the way they managed their work and volunteers. Volunteer coordinators, the vital link between volunteers and organizations, were suddenly thrust into a new reality due to the pandemic.

Traditional management practices had to quickly shift to remote management. To keep the spirit of volunteering alive, coordinators had to adapt to the virtual world, ensuring that volunteers continued to feel supported and valued just as they did before the pandemic.

Interviews

We conducted a quantitative study but did not receive enough results,
so we relied on a qualitative study and the results of the interviews we conducted.

First interviews were conducted to reveal the main pain points of our users

Pain points:

  • Noa is afraid that the existing volunteers will leave

  • Noa don't have enough tools to retain the volunteers and activate them remotely.

  • Volunteering in a hostel is difficult volunteering that contains difficult scenes. I would like to contact the volunteer at the beginning and at the end of the volunteering in order to establish contact with him and allay his concerns.

Pain points:

  • Idan feels that he cannot support volunteers like before the corona virus.

  • Idan fears that because the volunteer can't unload the emotional yoke created by volunteering, many volunteers will drop out.

"I fell that I have lost control over my interpersonal relationship with the volunteers and I am unable to help them accommodate like before"
